Save money– Medicare and private insurance typically cover only a portion of your ambulance bill. That could leave you responsible for paying a hundred dollars or more. By joining Medstar’s Ambulance Service Membership Program, you eliminate out-of-pocket costs for emergency ambulance care.

Your Ambulance service includes all medically necessary* ambulance transports, 24-hours a day, 365 days a year, and covers the entire uninsured portion of your ambulance bill. Most insurance companies only cover about 75%.

We are now servicing all of Baldwin County with ambulance stationed at Pleasure Island, Robertsdale, Foley, Daphne, and Bay Minette. Our highly trained professionals use the best equipment and advanced life-saving techniques. Our ambulances are state-of-the-art vehicles which function as virtual emergency rooms on wheels. That means, as a Member, you receive the best care available. Without concern for cost.

Guidelines for Medical Necessity are:

· Transport as a result of an emergency situation, e.g., accident, injury, or acute illness.

· Patient requires restraint

· Patient is unconscious or in shock

· Patient has to remain immobile due to fracture or possible fractures

· Patient has sustained an acute stroke or heart attack

· Patient is bed-confined before and after the ambulance trip

· Patient can only be moved by a stretcher.

 

* These services are covered 100% to members when physician authorized.

Membership Does Not Cover:

· Non-Medically Necessary Transports

· Transports from the hospital to your home

· Transports to or from your physicians office

· Transports to the hospital for non-urgent conditions

· Scheduled repetitive transports

· Wheelchair transport services
